Reduce Your Exposure To Everyday, Toxic Chemicals With These Tips
by Airbiotics October 11, 2017Toxins are everywhere, including your home. They’re in the air we breathe, on surfaces indoors and even in the commercial household cleaning products we use. You’re probably exposing yourself to toxic chemicals every single day without knowing it, given that they exist everywhere. Here are some tips to consider if you want to reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals and allergens in the home!
1. Read Labels Before Buying Products
How often do you just throw things into your shopping cart at the store without actually reading the ingredients inside? If you want to limit your exposure to toxic chemicals, this is the first step. Before buying anything, read the label on the back and find out what’s in the product you’re going to use. Don’t purchase products with potentially toxic substances like formaldehyde, benzene, parabens and phthalates.
2. Rethink Your Cleaning Routine
Did you know that commercial cleaners you use in your home every day can be hazardous to your health? Most household cleaning products contain harmful cleaning agents like Chlorine bleach, triclosan, ammonia, nano-silver and ammonium quaternary compounds. Avoid cleaning products like these at all costs and switch to something safe and effective like Airbiotics probiotic cleaning products.
3. Ditch Water Bottles And Plastic Containers
If there’s ever an option between drinking out of a plastic bottle or glass bottle, you should choose the latter. You see, most plastic bottles release toxic chemicals that can disrupt your endocrine system. One in particular that’s found in a lot of plastic materials is bisphenol A (BPA). A smart way to limit exposure to toxic chemicals like this one is to drink out of glasses and stop using plastic containers. If you must use plastic containers, use ones that say they’re “BPA-free.”
4. Buy Some Houseplants
Believe it or not, there are certain types of plants you can keep in your home that can absorb toxins and gases like toluene, carbon monoxide, benzene and formaldehyde. The Peace Lily, Philodendron, Lady Palm, Areca Palm, Bamboo Palm, Boston Fern, Fiscus Alii, and Dwarf Date Palm are all perfect houseplants to use to eliminate indoor toxic substances from the air. Another great option to rid your indoor air of pollutants is our Airbiotic 1, which provides 24 hour protection against mold spores, airborne pathogens and other toxic substances.
5. Dust Your Home On A Regular Basis
Dust mites are tiny organisms that eat our dead skin and dander and are found in places like bedding, pillows and carpet. Dust mites produce a protein in their waste that’s actually responsible for triggering allergies and asthma. That’s why it’s important to dust your furniture and surfaces often or even use an eco-friendly cleaning product that will kill dust mites. Just a few sprays of our StaBiotic™ Mist on bedding, upholstery, carpet and other indoor surfaces and dust mites are destroyed!
